Columbine Lake Water District is holding a Special Election, by order of the Grand County District Court, for the dissolution of the district according to the Dissolution/Unification Agreement with Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District.

Shall the Columbine Lake Water District be dissolved in accordance with the Petition for Dissolution filed on December 8, 2023 with the Grand County District Court in Civil Action No. 2000CV2004 and in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Dissolution/Unification Agreement filed with said petition?

The Office of the DEO is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Board of Directors consists of five directors serving 4-year terms on a staggering schedule. 2-year terms may be present on the ballot when a position is vacated between election cycles. Polling place elections are held in May in odd numbered years.

May 6, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY AND NOMINATION

Eligible electors ages 18 or older of the Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District interested in serving on the Board of Directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form from the Designated Election Official (DEO):

The deadline to submit a Self Nomination and Acceptance Form is close of business on Friday, February 27, 2025. 

Affidavit of Intent to be a Write in Candidate Forms must be submitted by the close of business on Monday, March 3, 2025. 

CANCELLATION OF ELECTION

If the only matter before electors is election of Directors, there are not more candidates than offices to be filled at election, including write-in candidates, then the Designated Election Official shall cancel the election on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
